The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) mapped the distribution of South Korean (ROK) direct investment in Indonesia based on data collected until October 13, 2025.

This type of investment includes foreign direct investment (FDI), allowing foreign parties to own and control companies in the destination country of the investment.

BKPM stated that the distribution of South Korean investment is still concentrated on Java Island, with West Java being the province with the highest value, reaching US$4.59 billion. The average investment growth in this province reached 41%.

"The majority of Korean investment is in the manufacturing sector and concentrated on Java Island," said Tirta Nugraha Mursitama, Deputy for Investment Cooperation at BKPM, during the APEC at the Crossroads: Building Bridges for Regional Growth discussion organized by FPCI and the Korea Foundation in Jakarta, Monday (13/10/2025).

The following is a breakdown of South Korean investment distribution in Indonesia by top provinces:

1. Banten: US$3.18 billion

2. Central Java: US$1.31 billion

3. East Java: US$0.58 billion or US$580 million

4. Jakarta: US$0.49 billion or US$490 million

5. Other provinces: US$1.15 billion.

The total investment distribution reached US$18.12 billion. However, BKPM has not yet detailed the accumulation period for this investment value.

BKPM also recorded 30,581 projects undertaken to realize South Korean investment. The absorption of labor reached 299,149 people.
