The financial sustainability of the Indonesia's National Health Insurance (JKN) program, managed by BPJS Kesehatan, continues to weaken.

According to data from the National Social Security Council (DJSN), as of December 2022, BPJS Kesehatan still had net assets of IDR 56.51 trillion.

These funds were sufficient to finance healthcare services for 5.98 months.

However, its assets gradually decreased thereafter. By August 2025, BPJS Kesehatan's net asset value was only IDR 39.28 trillion, enough to finance services for just 2.59 months.
