Indonesia's Net Tax Decreased 4.39% YoY in September 2025

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that Indonesia's gross tax revenue reached Rp1,619.2 trillion throughout January-September 2025.

Of this amount, net tax revenue, calculated after refunds, was Rp1,295.28 trillion. This net figure covers 62.4% of the outlook target.

Net tax revenue until September 2025 decreased by 4.39% compared to the same period last year (year-on-year/yoy), which was Rp1,354.86 trillion.

Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, revealed that one of the reasons for the decline in accumulated net tax was an increase in tax refunds.

"These refunds mean the money is returned to the public, businesses, and taxpayers, allowing it to circulate within the economy. We hope that this circulating money, including that from tax refunds, will help drive our economy," said Suahasil during the 'APBN Kita' press conference on Tuesday (October 14, 2025).

However, monthly revenue in September 2025 recorded a 9.9% increase (yoy). Specifically, it rose from Rp145.4 trillion in August 2025 to Rp159.8 trillion in September 2025.

In terms of trend since the beginning of 2025, the highest tax revenue was recorded in April 2025, amounting to Rp234.4 trillion. The lowest occurred in January, at only Rp88.9 trillion.
