The Ministry of Finance (MoF) reported that Indonesia's State Budget (APBN) performance until September 2025 recorded a deficit of IDR 371.5 trillion, equivalent to 1.56% of the gross domestic product (GDP).

The APBN deficit for this period surged by 52.75% compared to the deficit position in September last year (year-on-year/yoy), which was IDR 243.2 trillion or 1.10% of GDP.

Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa explained that this widening deficit occurred because state expenditure realization was greater than state revenue.
