Economic Package 8+4+5 Lower than the Previous Period

The Indonesian government has introduced an "8+4+5" economic policy package, allocated for late 2025 to 2026, to boost national economic growth. The total package amounts to Rp16.23 trillion.

According to a report by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), this economic stimulus consists of 8 acceleration programs to be implemented in 2025, 4 programs to be continued in 2026, and 5 job creation programs.

“This policy package is expected to boost economic growth and create more job opportunities,” LPS wrote in its report, quoted on Tuesday (14/10/2025).

However, the total budget for the 8+4+5 package is smaller compared to the stimulus package in June–July 2025, which amounted to Rp24.44 trillion.

When analyzed by composition, there are striking differences between the two packages. In the June-July 2025 economic stimulus, the largest allocation was for food, totaling Rp11.93 trillion or 48.81% of the total stimulus. Meanwhile, job creation received Rp10.72 trillion or 43.86%. Other allocations amounted to Rp1.79 trillion or 7.32%.

For the 8+4+5 package, the largest composition is for job creation, amounting to Rp8.32 trillion or 51.26% of the total 8+4+5 stimulus. This is followed by food at Rp7 trillion (43.13%) and other allocations at Rp0.91 trillion (5.61%).

LPS stated that this indicates the government's recent focus is on job creation. The budget will be allocated to several programs, such as internships for university graduates, cash-for-work programs at the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Public Works, and workspace facilities for workers in the gig economy sector.
