The number of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs in Bantul Regency has shown an upward trend over the past five years.

In 2021, the Yogyakarta Special Region Provincial Government recorded 90,611 individuals as MSME entrepreneurs.

In 2022, this number decreased by 3,625 to 86,986 entrepreneurs. However, a year later, the number of MSME entrepreneurs in Bantul Regency increased by 4,789 to 91,775.

In 2024, the number of MSME entrepreneurs in Bantul Regency reached 93,846, a growth of 2,071 compared to the previous year.

As of July 1, 2025, the number of MSME entrepreneurs in the regency reached 94,095. This represents an increase of 249 compared to 2024 and is the highest number in the last five years.

Arif Haryanto, Head of Commission B of the Bantul Regency DPRD (Regional People's Representative Council), stated that the local government plays a strategic role in advancing MSMEs. One example is the local government's contribution to the People's Business Credit (KUR) program.

"KUR helps MSMEs gain access to financing, improve financial performance, enhance product quality, and reach wider markets, enabling them to compete in the global market," he said, as quoted from krjogja.com.
