Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 15,239 per US Dollar (Friday, October 7, 2022)

As of 10:43 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was traded at Rp 15,239 per US dollar on Friday, October 7, 2022. This represents a weakening of 0.34% compared to the previous day's closing price of Rp 15,188 per US dollar. The daily exchange rate is expected to range between 15187.5 and 15245 per US dollar.

According to investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has increased by 0.14% in the past week. However, compared to the previous 30 days, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has weakened by 2.41%.

Despite this, over the past year, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually strengthened. The previous highest record in the last year reached Rp 15,300 per US dollar.

For the period January-October 2022, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has shown a weakening trend, moving 2.31% compared to the level of Rp 14,895 per US dollar a month ago.

The current rupiah exchange rate is contrary to most regional currencies, which are strengthening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 0.98 points (-0.07%) to KRW 1,407.63 per US dollar. Following this, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.17 points (-0.11%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0004 points (-0.03%), the euro strengthened by 0.0015 points (-0.15%), and the Chinese yuan weakened by 0.01 points (+0.21%).
