229,000 Civil Servants to Transfer Agencies, Most from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology

The State Civil Apparatus Agency (BKN) reported that approximately 229,000 civil servants (ASN) will be affected by the restructuring of institutions within the "Red and White Cabinet."

This number comprises 209,900 civil servants (PNS) and 20,000 Government Employees with Work Contracts (PPPK).

"In preparation for this human resource arrangement, in accordance with Presidential Regulation 139/2024, BKN will conduct a mapping of existing employees within the institutions. Subsequently, coordination will be carried out between BKN, the Ministry of PAN-RB (Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform), and government institutions," said the Acting Head of BKN, Haryomo Dwi Putranto, during a Working Meeting with Commission II of the DPR (House of Representatives) on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Next, BKN will release a list of ASN to be transferred based on Eselon I and II units, referring to the nomenclature of the relevant institutional presidential regulation. Then, the institutions will conduct verification through the Civil Servant Apparatus Information System (SIASN) application.

"We are ensuring that ASN management services are not disrupted and are coordinating with relevant units," said Haryomo.

The following is a breakdown of the number of ASN to be transferred based on their originating institution:

1. Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek): 117,784 people
2. Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham): 64,879 people
3. Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR): 22,202 people
4. Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK): 19,545 people
5. Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf): 2,256 people
6. Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT): 2,072 people
7. Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM): 710 people
8. Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves): 453 people
