Puan Maharani's Wealth Increased by Rp 188 Billion During Her Tenure as House Speaker

Puan Maharani, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2019-2024 period, has been re-elected as Speaker for the 2024-2029 term.

"Doctor Honoris Causa Puan Maharani from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) faction as the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives," said the acting Speaker of the House, Guntur Sasono, while reading the results of the plenary session, as reported by *Katadata* on Tuesday (1/10/2024).

This is based on Article 427D of the Law on the People's Consultative Assembly, the House of Representatives, Regional Representatives Councils, and the Regional Deliberative Assembly (UU MD3), which states that the Speaker of the House comes from the political party with the most seats in the DPR.

Puan Maharani's wealth has reportedly increased significantly during her time as Speaker of the House.

According to the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN), when she first took office as Speaker of the House in 2019, Puan had total assets of Rp364.5 billion.

By the end of 2023, her total wealth had reached Rp552.89 billion, an increase of approximately Rp188 billion or 52% compared to when she first took office.

Puan's main assets at the end of 2023 consisted of property worth Rp364.49 billion. She is recorded as owning 97 plots of land and buildings spread across Gianyar, Badung, Bangli, Denpasar, Tabanan, Klungkung, Bogor, Depok, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta.

Megawati Soekarnoputri's daughter also owns 10 vehicles worth Rp1.53 billion, comprising 7 cars and 3 motorcycles; and has debts totaling Rp47.19 billion.
