Indonesian Rupiah Strengthens to Rp 14,902 per US Dollar (Friday, August 5, 2022)

The Indonesian Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market this morning, until 10:43 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), was traded at Rp 14,902 per US dollar on Friday, August 5, 2022. This exchange rate strengthened by 0.2% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 14,932 per US dollar. Today's trading of the Rupiah exchange rate is expected to move in the range of 14,885 - 14,932.5.

As shown on investing.com, the Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has increased by 0.18% in a week. Compared to the previous 30 days, the Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has strengthened by 0.22%.

However, for the one-year data range, the Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually decreased (weakened). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,030 per US dollar.

For the January-August 2022 period, the Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market continued to strengthen, moving -0.23% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at the level of Rp 14,940 per US dollar.

The current Rupiah exchange rate follows most regional currencies that are weakening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 5.7 points (-0.44%) to KRW 1,296.68 per US dollar, the Japanese yen weakened by 0.29 points (+0.22%), the Singapore dollar weakened (+0.01%), the euro weakened (+0.10%), and the Chinese yuan weakened (+0.04%).
