The Indonesian government has allocated Rp504.7 trillion (approximately US$33.6 billion based on current exchange rates, but the exact amount depends on the date of conversion) for social protection in the 2025 State Budget (RAPBN). This represents a 4% increase compared to the similar budget outlined in the 2024 APBN outlook.
According to the RAPBN, the majority of the 2025 social protection budget will be channeled through central government spending: Rp151.4 trillion through ministries/agencies (K/L) and Rp342.67 trillion through non-K/L spending. The remaining Rp10.65 trillion will be transferred to regional governments (TKD).
Here's a breakdown of the social protection budget allocation in the 2025 RAPBN:

(1) Ministry of Social Affairs:
* Conditional cash assistance (PKH) disbursement to 10 million beneficiary families (KPM)
* Food assistance/Sembako cards for 18.8 million KPM
* Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) for:
* 42,400 children
* 37,400 elderly individuals
* 64,100 people with disabilities
* 14,500 victims of substance abuse and HIV/AIDS
(2) Ministry of Health:
* Contribution assistance for the National Health Insurance (JKN) program for 96.8 million PBI participants and 49.6 million PBPU and Class III participants. (Note: PBI, PBPU, and Class III refer to specific categories within the JKN system.)
(3) Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag):
* Indonesia Smart Card (PIP) program for 20.4 million students
* Indonesian Hope Scholarship (KIP Kuliah) program for 1.1 million students
