Sumatera Barat Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Sugar Prices Down (Saturday, January 20, 2024)

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (20/1/2024) at 13:38 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include cooking oil (curah), shallots, garlic bulbs, chicken eggs, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, wheat flour (curah), granulated sugar, chicken meat, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp3,140 (6.54%) to Rp51,150 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of farmer-level corn decreased the most by Rp140 (2.04%) to Rp6,730 per kg.
