Indonesian Rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar (Thursday, July 29): Rp 14,491 per US$

The Indonesian Rupiah strengthened against the US dollar on Thursday, July 29, 2021. According to the Bank Indonesia (BI) daily publication, the exchange rate was Rp 14,491 per US$. The Rupiah appreciated by Rp 7 per US$ compared to the previous day. This current condition shows the Rupiah's resilience amidst pressure, contrasting with the weakening trend of the previous few weeks, which is now attempting a reversal.

Over the past week, the Rupiah traded within a range of Rp 65 per US$. The highest transaction was at Rp 14,554 per US$, and the lowest at Rp 14,489 per US$.

Over the past month, the Rupiah traded within a wider range of Rp 96 per US$, with the lowest value at Rp 14,468 per US$.

Meanwhile, against other major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the Rupiah weakened most significantly against the Vietnamese Dong over the past week, followed by the Lao Kip, Saudi Riyal, US dollar, and Hong Kong dollar.

Over the past month, the Rupiah's performance was most negatively impacted against the Kuwaiti Dinar, followed by the US dollar, Saudi Riyal, Vietnamese Dong, and Japanese Yen.
