Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 15,704 per US Dollar (Wednesday, November 23, 2022)

As of 10:43 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was traded at Rp 15,704 per US dollar on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. This represents a 0.04% weakening compared to the previous day's closing rate of Rp 15,697 per US dollar. The daily exchange rate is expected to range between 15,637.5 and 15,672.5 per US dollar.

According to investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 1.09% in the past week. Compared to 30 days ago, the rupiah in the spot market has weakened by 1.35%.

However, over the past year, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually strengthened. The previous highest record in the last year reached Rp 15,740 per US dollar.

For the period January-November 2022, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market showed a weakening trend, moving 0.86% compared to the level of Rp 15,570 per US dollar a month ago.

The current rupiah exchange rate follows the trend of most regional currencies, which are weakening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 0.81 points (-0.06%) to KRW 1,327.01 per US dollar, the Japanese yen weakened by 0.06 points (+0.04%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0029 points (-0.21%), the euro strengthened by 0.0004 points (-0.04%), and the Chinese yuan strengthened by 0.0036 points (-0.05%).
