Finance Minister Sri Mulyani stated that this realization of state spending equates to 18.4% of the budget ceiling of Rp3,325.1 trillion.

This increase was driven by K/L employee spending and the payment of performance bonuses (THR), goods spending, capital spending, and social assistance spending.

Next, the realization of non-K/L central government spending amounted to Rp205.4 trillion, or a 13.9% (yoy) increase. Spending in this category was allocated for energy subsidies and pension benefit payments disbursed to 3.5 million ASN/TNI/Polri retirees.

Furthermore, the realization of transfers to regions (TKD) also increased by 7.6% year-on-year (yoy) to Rp184.3 trillion, equivalent to 21.5% of the budget ceiling.

On the other hand, the realization of state revenue as of March 2024 was recorded at Rp620 trillion, equivalent to 22.1% of this year's ceiling of Rp2,802.3 trillion.

This higher revenue than expenditure resulted in an APBN surplus of Rp8.1 trillion. However, this figure plummeted by 93.7% (yoy) compared to the same period last year, which had a surplus of Rp128.1 trillion.
