Sumatera Selatan Food Prices Thursday (May 2nd): Egg Prices Rise, Rice Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be lower compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (May 2nd, 2024) at 13:43 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased in price and 12 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, fine iodized salt, bulk wheat flour, bulk cooking oil, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, premium rice, simple packaged cooking oil, granulated sugar, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of broiler chicken eggs saw the highest increase, jumping by Rp170 (0.61%) to Rp28,090 per kg. The price of premium rice saw the lowest decrease, dropping by Rp220 (1.55%) to Rp13,940 per kg.
