Dewi Kam Became Indonesia's Richest Woman in 2023 According to Forbes

Forbes magazine has released its list of the 50 richest people in Indonesia in 2023. Four of them are women.

Below are the names and brief profiles of the richest women in Indonesia according to Forbes:

1. Dewi Kam

Dewi Kam ranks first as the richest woman in Indonesia, with an estimated net worth of US$4.45 billion, or approximately Rp68.98 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp15,503 per US$).

According to Forbes, the majority of Dewi Kam's wealth comes from a minority stake in the Indonesian coal company, Bayan Resources. Amidst the global energy crisis, shares of the company (ticker symbol BYAN) tripled in 2022 and continued to rise this year.

In addition, the 73-year-old is also the owner of PT Sumber Energi Sakti Prima (SSP), which partners with PT Bosowa Energi in the Jeneponto Coal-Fired Power Plant (PLTU) project in Punagaya Village, Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi Province.

2. Jenny Quantero and Engki Wibowo

Jenny Quantero currently serves as the Corporate Affairs Director and Secretary of Bayan Resources.

Her and her husband, Engki Wibowo's, combined net worth is estimated at US$1.5 billion, or approximately Rp23.25 trillion.

The couple helped Low Tuck Kwong establish Bayan Resources in 2004. Engki subsequently sold his shares in 2022.

3. Arini Subianto and family

The net worth of Arini Subianto and her family is estimated at US$1.34 billion, or Rp20.77 trillion this year.

After her father, Benny Subianto, passed away in 2017, Arini took over her family's multi-million dollar business.

One source of her wealth is PT Persada Capital Investama, a company involved in plantations, agriculture, construction, property, and mining.

The company led by Arini also holds a minority stake in Adaro Energy. Arini has also been investing in technology startups through PT Persada since 2017.

4. Marina Budiman

Finally, Marina Budiman, with a net worth of US$1.01 billion or Rp15.65 trillion. She holds the position of President Commissioner of PT DCI Indonesia Tbk., a data center company she founded with Toto Sugiri.
