Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 15,629 per US Dollar (Friday, December 16, 2022)

As of 10:43 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at Rp 15,629 per US dollar on Friday, December 16, 2022. This exchange rate weakened by 0.07% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 15,617 per US dollar. Today's trading of the rupiah exchange rate is expected to move in the range of 15614 - 15640.5.

As shown on investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been pressured down by 0.05% in a week. Compared to 30 days earlier, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been pressured down by 0.89%.

However, for a one-year data range, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually decreased (strengthened). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,740 per US dollar.

The rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was at its lowest point of Rp 14,255 per US dollar on Thursday, February 17, 2022. The highest point this year was around Rp 15,740 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate is contrary to most regional currencies that are strengthening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 9.25 points (-0.70%) to KRW 1,310.25 per US dollar, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.39 points (-0.29%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0044 points (-0.32%), the euro strengthened by 0.0016 points (-0.16%), and the Chinese yuan strengthened by 0.0108 points (-0.15%).
