Residents of Nias Regency spend Rp18,88 per capita per week on Tilapia.

The average expenditure of people in Nias Regency to buy tilapia in 2023 was Rp18.88 per capita per week. This figure is down compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp61.87 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members for a month, whether from purchases, gifts, or self-production, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is distinguished between food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of the goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to others.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated for a week, while non-food consumption is calculated for a month and the previous 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

According to BPS, this decrease in expenditure is due to the monthly inflation rate (month to month) in this region, which reached 3.82%. Meanwhile, economic growth in 2023 was recorded at 3.82%.

The five largest expenditures of residents for fish groups in Nias Regency, from the highest order, are spent on skipjack tuna (Rp3,706.38 per capita per week), other preserved fish (Rp1,580.44 per capita per week), preserved anchovies (Rp1,414.51 per capita per week), preserved mackerel/peda (Rp673.07 per capita per week), and the lowest is spent on snakehead fish (Rp9.05 per capita per week).

According to a publication by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp953,770 per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 26.04% compared to March 2022, which was Rp756,700 per capita per month.
