Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the September 2023 APBN surplus increased by 10.6% year-on-year (yoy).

"The (APBN) surplus in September 2023 is higher; last year's surplus was Rp61.2 trillion, while this year it's Rp67.7 trillion," said Sri Mulyani in a press conference on the APBN Kita, Wednesday (25/10/2023).

This surplus indicates that state revenue exceeded expenditure.

Sri Mulyani said that state revenue as of September 2023 reached Rp2,035.6 trillion, equivalent to 82.6% of this year's target of Rp2,463 trillion. This realization grew by 3.1% yoy.

Meanwhile, state expenditure reached Rp1,967.9 trillion, or 64.3% of the total budget ceiling in the 2023 APBN, which is Rp3,061.2 trillion, and grew by 2.8% yoy.

The primary balance in September 2023 also recorded a surplus of Rp389.7 trillion. The primary balance is the total state revenue minus state expenditure, excluding interest payments on debt.
