Jakarta Contributed the Largest Share to the Economy in the Second Quarter of 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices in Jakarta reached Rp 721.5 trillion in the second quarter of 2021. This figure was the highest in all of Indonesia during that period.

With this amount, Jakarta contributed 17.23% to the national GDP, which reached Rp 4,175.8 trillion in the second quarter of 2021. In Java, Jakarta's contribution to the GDP at current prices was recorded at 29.73%.

East Java was in second place with a GDP at current prices reaching Rp 548.9 trillion in the second quarter of 2021. East Java's GDP at current prices contributed 14.44% to the national GDP.

Next was West Java with a GDP at current prices of Rp 548.9 trillion in April-June 2021. West Java's contribution to the national GDP reached 13.1%.

Then, Central Java's GDP at current prices was recorded at Rp 350.2 trillion in the second half of the year. Central Java's contribution to the national GDP reached 8.36%.

Meanwhile, Gorontalo had the lowest GDP at current prices in the second quarter of 2021, namely Rp 10.9 trillion. Gorontalo's contribution to the national GDP was recorded at 0.26%.
