Today's Food Prices in East Java: Chili and Salt Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (1/5/2024) at 15.57 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, fine iodized salt, dry soybean (import), skipjack tuna, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, bulk cooking oil, medium rice, simple packaged cooking oil, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The commodity with the highest price increase was livestock-level corn, up by Rp290 (4.33%) to Rp6,980 per kg. The commodity with the lowest price decrease was red chili, down by Rp210 (0.79%) to Rp26,230 per kg.
