Current Indonesian Food Prices: Egg Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Thursday (26/9/2024) at 08.02 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased in price and 11 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, mackerel, premium rice, skipjack tuna, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, bulk cooking oil, simple packaged cooking oil, pure beef, and broiler chicken decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp2,540 (6.78%) to Rp40,000 per kg. Milkfish prices saw the sharpest decrease, dropping Rp1,590 (4.79%) to Rp31,630 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in Indonesia according to Bapanas on September 26, 2024, at 08.02 WIB.

6. Curly Red Chilies: Rp32,340 per kg (down 1.88%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp32,070 per kg (up 0.6%)
8. Milkfish: Rp31,630 per kg (down 4.79%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp29,450 per kg (up 3.55%)
10. Red Onions: Rp27,640 per kg (up 0.07%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,030 per liter (down 0.66%)
12. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (up 0.95%)
