Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Rice, Egg, and Chili Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (27/4/2024) at 16.10 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk wheat flour, milkfish, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), chicken eggs, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, broiler chicken, shallots, bulk cooking oil, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp3,350 (7.36%) to Rp48,860 per kg. Shallots saw the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp1,720 (2.72%) to Rp61,420 per kg.

6. Broiler Chicken: Rp35,150 per kg (down 0.09%)
7. Mackerel: Rp31,400 per kg (up 2.38%)
8. Milkfish: Rp27,790 per kg (up 0.14%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,500 per kg (up 0.62%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,420 per kg (down 0.25%)
