Food Prices on Thursday (July 31) in West Sumatra: Red Chili Prices Rise, Rice Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Thursday (July 31, 2025) at 08:38 AM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases include skipjack tuna, consumption sugar, dried soybean seeds (imported), garlic bulbs, and fresh buffalo meat (local).

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as packaged cooking oil, premium rice, broiler eggs, bulk wheat flour, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna recorded the highest jump of Rp3,155 (7.95%) to Rp42,857 per kg. Meanwhile, SPHP rice prices saw the deepest decline of Rp13,075 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.
