Current Indonesian Food Prices: Chili Up, Onions Down

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (9/7/2024) at 15.21 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk cooking oil, granulated sugar, dry soybean (import), farmer-level corn, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as garlic cloves, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), broiler chicken meat, premium rice, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp930 (1.84%) to Rp51,350 per kg. Milkfish experienced the largest price decrease of Rp740 (2.24%) to Rp32,280 per kg.
