Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: What's the Price of Onions?

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (11/7/2024) at 09.17 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk wheat flour, iodized fine salt, broiler chicken meat, red chilies, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged (non-bulk) wheat flour, shallots, granulated sugar, bulk cooking oil, and skipjack tuna have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp3,930 (9.43%) to Rp45,590 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of Indian mackerel experienced the steepest decline, dropping Rp9,210 (18.83%) to Rp39,690 per kg.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp34,220 per kg (down 7.49%)
7. Milkfish: Rp30,000 per kg (down 6.04%)
8. Shallots: Rp29,970 per kg (down 4.4%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,040 per kg (up 2.0%)
10. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,740 per liter (up 0.68%)
