Latest Food Prices in East Java: Egg Prices Up, Chili Prices Down (Thursday, January 18, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Thursday (18/1/2024) at 15.05 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include milkfish, Indian mackerel, pure beef, farmer-level corn, and granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chili peppers, medium rice, simple packaged cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp460 (6.44%) to Rp7,600 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers saw the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp1,640 (4.03%) to Rp39,060 per kg.
