The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance revealed that as of March 12, 2024, 7.48 million taxpayers had submitted their annual tax returns (SPT).

This figure comprises 226,670 corporate income tax (PPh) annual returns and 7.25 million individual income tax (PPh) annual returns.

"Submitted annual PPh returns grew by 1.83% year-on-year (yoy)," said Dwi Astuti, Director of Dissemination, Services, and Public Relations, as reported by Antara on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Dwi urged taxpayers to promptly submit their annual tax returns through various available channels, such as e-filling and e-form. However, the DGT will still accept manually submitted tax returns.

The deadline for submitting annual tax returns is March 31, 2024, for individual taxpayers and April 30, 2024, for corporate taxpayers.

Late submission of annual tax returns will incur administrative penalties in the form of fines: Rp100,000 for individual taxpayers and Rp1,000,000 for corporate taxpayers.

The DGT stated that it will send email blasts to 20 million taxpayers, both individuals and corporations, to remind them to submit their annual tax returns. These emails will be sent in stages.

However, the DGT cautions the public to be wary of fraudulent emails. Official email blasts will be sent from the Directorate General of Taxes' official email address with the domain @pajak.go.id.
