Indonesian Rupiah Strengthens to Rp 14,855 per US Dollar (Friday, July 29, 2022)

As of 10:43 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at Rp 14,855 per US dollar on Friday, July 29, 2022. This exchange rate strengthened by 0.72% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 14,963 per US dollar. Today's trading of the rupiah exchange rate is expected to move in the range of 14832.5 - 14877.5.

According to investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has risen by 1.16% in a week. Compared to 30 days ago, however, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been pressured down by 0.05%.

Nevertheless, for the one-year data range, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually experienced a decrease (strengthening). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,030 per US dollar.

For the January-July 2022 period, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market experienced a weakening trend, moving 0.05% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at the level of Rp 14,850 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate follows most regional currencies that are weakening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won weakened by 1.71 points (+0.13%) to KRW 1,304.99 per US dollar. Following this, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.65 points (-0.49%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0012 points (-0.09%), the euro strengthened by 0.0006 points (-0.06%), and the Chinese yuan weakened by 0.01 points (+0.09%).
