Daily Fresh Chicken Egg Prices at Traditional Markets, November 2023-2024

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of fresh chicken eggs in traditional markets in West Papua Province is recorded at Rp34,700. This price is unchanged compared to the previous day, and similarly, there has been no change in price over the past week.

Over the past month, however, the daily price of fresh chicken eggs in traditional markets has decreased from a previous record of Rp36,000.

Meanwhile, the daily price of fresh chicken eggs in traditional markets in West Papua over the past three months has decreased by 11.25%. According to historical food price records on the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of fresh chicken eggs in traditional markets in West Papua Province was traded at Rp39,100.

The highest record for the daily price of fresh chicken eggs in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in December 2018 with an increase of 68.33%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in March 2020 with a decrease of -27%.

The PIHPS monitoring shows that the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in West Papua recorded 12 commodities decreasing and 14 others increasing. Basic commodities with decreased prices include Red Chili, Low-Quality Rice I, Red Chili Peppers, Chili Peppers, Fresh Chicken Meat, Green Chili Peppers, Fresh Chicken Eggs, Large Red Chili, Chicken Eggs, Curly Red Chili, Low-Quality Rice II, and Chicken Meat.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price changes over the past month in West Papua Province:

7. Red Chili Peppers per Kg Rp93,900 per kg (down 4.72%)
8. Medium-Sized Red Onion per Kg Rp55,000 per kg (up 13.64%)
9. Super Quality Rice II per Kg Rp17,800 per kg (up 2.01%)
