Medium-sized Red Onion Prices in Traditional Markets for the April 2025-2026 Period

Based on the latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS) panel, the daily price of medium-sized red onions in traditional markets in Papua province is recorded at Rp55,650. This price has increased by Rp850 compared to the previous day.

Compared to the price in the last month, the daily price of medium-sized red onions in traditional markets has risen from the previously recorded Rp45,000.

Meanwhile, the daily price of medium-sized red onions in traditional markets in Papua over the last three months has decreased by 15.1%. According to historical food price records from the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of medium-sized red onions in traditional markets in Papua province was traded at Rp65,550.

The record increase in the daily price of medium-sized red onions in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in August 2023 with an increase of 58.48%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in August 2023 with a decrease of -37.4%.

According to the PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine staple foods (sembako) in Papua today show that seven commodities have decreased and 14 others have increased. The staple foods with price decreases are Large Red Chili, Curly Red Chili, Rice, Low Quality I Rice, Low Quality II Rice, Medium Quality I Rice and Medium Quality II Rice.
