Indonesian Rupiah Weakens to Rp 15,482 per US Dollar (Wednesday, October 19, 2022)

As of 10:45 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was traded at Rp 15,482 per US dollar on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. This exchange rate weakened by 0.1% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 15,466 per US dollar. The daily exchange rate movement is expected to be in the range of 15466.5 - 15484 per US dollar.

As shown on investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 0.83% in a week. Compared to 30 days ago, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has weakened by 4.26%.

However, for the one-year data range, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually experienced a decrease (strengthening). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,485 per US dollar.

For the period January-October 2022, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market experienced a weakening trend, moving 3.87% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at Rp 14,905 per US dollar.

The current rupiah exchange rate follows most regional currencies that are weakening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 6.89 points (-0.48%) to KRW 1,418.44 per US dollar. Following this, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.06 points (-0.04%), the Singapore dollar weakened (+0.01%), the euro weakened (+0.08%), and the Chinese yuan weakened (+0.06%).
