Today's Food Price Update in South Sumatra: Oil and Sugar Prices Drop (Saturday, March 16, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (16/3/2024) at 12.22 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, Indian mackerel, chicken eggs, whole garlic cloves, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, red chili peppers, broiler chicken, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase of Rp410 (3.72%) to Rp11,420 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red curly chilies decreased the most, by Rp1,570 (2.17%) to Rp70,920 per kg.

7. Indian Mackerel: Rp31,340 per kg (up 1.59%)
