Current Food Prices in Jakarta: Onion Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in DKI Jakarta today are observed to be higher compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 09:34 WIB, out of 14 commodities, 11 commodities increased in price and 3 decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, granulated sugar, red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, red chilies, and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp18,580 (59.13%) to Rp50,000 per kg. Meanwhile, red chilies experienced the steepest price drop, falling Rp18,860 (27.39%) to Rp50,000 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 14 food commodities in DKI Jakarta according to Bapanas on August 17, 2024, at 09:34 WIB.

1. Shallots: Rp50,000 per kg (up 59.13%)
2. Garlic Bulbs: Rp50,000 per kg (up 21.07%)
3. Red Chilies: Rp50,000 per kg (up 11.51%)
4. Red Chili Peppers: Rp50,000 per kg (down 27.39%)
5. Broiler Chicken: Rp44,000 per kg (up 17.87%)
6. Milkfish: Rp40,000 per kg (up 2.04%)
7. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp34,000 per kg (up 20.48%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,000 per kg (down 12.66%)
9. Mackerel: Rp25,000 per kg (down 26.66%)
10. Granulated Sugar: Rp20,000 per kg (up 7.76%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (up 0.45%)
12. Premium Rice: Rp16,800 per kg (up 6.53%)
