West Sumatra Food Prices Wednesday (28/8): Chili, Sugar, and Beef Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (28/8/2024) at 2:15 PM WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dried soybean (import), broiler chicken meat, chicken eggs, pure beef, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, red chili peppers, garlic bulbs, simple packaged cooking oil, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices increased the most, by Rp1,600 (3.91%) to Rp42,490 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili pepper prices decreased the most sharply, by Rp3,130 (5.52%) to Rp53,530 per kg.
