East Kutai Received the Largest General Mining Revenue Share in 2020

The Ministry of Finance recorded that Kutai Timur Regency received Rp 1.44 trillion in general mining revenue sharing (DBH) in 2020. This amount reached 8.36% of the total DBH transferred to regencies/cities last year, making it the largest among other regencies/cities.

Kutai Kartanegara Regency was in second place, receiving Rp 1.39 trillion (8.03%) in general mining DBH. Following this was Paser Regency, with general mining DBH receipts reaching Rp 751.03 billion (4.35%).

General mining DBH received by Berau Regency and Mimika Regency amounted to Rp 714.87 billion (4.14%) and Rp 709.34 billion (4.14%), respectively. Kutai Barat Regency received Rp 671.07 billion (3.88%) in general mining DBH.

Bontang City received Rp 514.04 billion (2.97%) in general mining DBH. Balikpapan City and Samarinda City received Rp 513.74 billion (2.97%) and Rp 449.98 billion (2.6%), respectively. Meanwhile, Tanah Bumbu Regency received Rp 441.42 billion (2.55%) in general mining DBH.

Eight out of the ten regencies/cities receiving the largest general mining DBH are located in East Kalimantan Province. One regency/city is located in South Kalimantan, and the remaining one is in Papua.

The regencies/cities in East Kalimantan with the largest general mining DBH are coal-producing regions. Mimika Regency in Papua is one of the world's largest gold-producing regions.
