The 2017 Indonesian State Budget (APBN) absorption realization was lower than in 2016. Ministry of Finance data recorded government spending from January 1st to February 20th, 2017, at Rp 168.63 trillion, or only 8.1 percent of the 2017 APBN target. This figure is lower than the same period in 2016, which reached Rp 189.41 trillion, or 9.1 percent of the 2016 Revised State Budget (APBNP).
Meanwhile, government revenue from January 1st to February 20th, 2017, increased to Rp 145.443 trillion, or 8.4 percent of the APBN. This is higher than the same period the previous year, which was only Rp 138.75 trillion, or 7.8 percent of the APBN.
The budget deficit from January 1st to February 20th, 2017, was recorded at Rp 22.2 trillion, or 6.7 percent of the 2017 APBN. This amount is also lower than the same period the previous year, which reached Rp 50.66 trillion, or 17.1 percent of the APBN. The budget deficit-to-Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ratio in 2017 was 0.16 percent, also lower than the previous year's 0.42 percent.
