Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Oil, Red Chili, and Sugar Prices Rise

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (August 1, 2025) at 12:20 PM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 15 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include pure beef, packaged wheat flour, mackerel, bulk cooking oil, and dry soybean seeds (imported).

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, broiler eggs, red bird's eye chili, milkfish, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chili commodity surged the highest by Rp974 (2.69%) to Rp37,164 per kg. Meanwhile, milkfish price dropped the deepest by Rp225 (0.8%) to Rp27,793 per kg.
