Latest Food Prices in West Java: Onions Up, Chilies Down (Thursday, March 28, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in West Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (28/3/2024) at 08.06 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, shallots, medium-grain rice, premium rice, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, bulk cooking oil, curly red chilies, iodized fine salt, and pure beef have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase, up Rp4,480 (14.44%) to Rp35,500 per kg. Curly red chilies saw the lowest price decrease, down Rp6,740 (14.74%) to Rp38,990 per kg.

2. Red Chilies: Rp48,990 per kg (up 11.93%)
3. Shallot Bulbs: Rp40,990 per kg (up 2.81%)
4. Ikan Kembung (a type of fish): Rp40,000 per kg (down 0.02%)
5. Chicken Meat: Rp39,950 per kg (up 3.79%)
6. Curly Red Chilies: Rp38,990 per kg (down 14.74%)
7. Milkfish: Rp37,420 per kg (down 0.37%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp37,420 per kg (up 2.77%)
9. Shallots: Rp35,500 per kg (up 14.44%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,980 per kg (down 5.39%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,490 per kg (up 1.04%)
