Red Chili Prices in Traditional Markets for the February 2025-2026 Period

Quoting from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center dashboard at 14:44 WIB, the daily red chili price in traditional markets of East Java province was observed to drop by Rp1,200 compared to the previous day to Rp54,000.

Meanwhile, compared to the past month, the daily red chili price in traditional markets has increased from the previously recorded Rp42,050.

Over the past three months, the daily red chili price in East Java's traditional markets has surged by 228.27% from the previously recorded Rp16,450.

The record increase in daily red chili prices in traditional markets of this province was previously recorded in November 2021 at 74.67%, while the lowest decrease was recorded in July 2017 at -26.89%.

According to the PIHPS monitoring, today's prices of nine staple foods (sembako) in East Java show 12 commodities decreased and 18 increased. The sembako with price drops are Chicken Eggs, Medium-sized Red Onions, Garlic, Red Onions, Medium-sized Garlic, Fresh Layer Chicken Eggs, Premium Quality Granulated Sugar, Local Granulated Sugar, Curly Red Chili, Red Chili, Granulated Sugar, and Large Red Chili.

5. Bird's Eye Chili per Kg Rp73,800 per kg (up 4.46%)
6. Garlic per Kg Rp51,200 per kg (down 3.31%)
7. Chicken Meat per Kg Rp45,350 per kg (up 0.78%)
8. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per Kg Rp20,100 per kg (up 0.25%)
9. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1 per Kg Rp20,450 per kg (up 1.24%)
10. Beef per Kg Rp167,400 per kg (up 0.45%)
11. Red Onions per Kg Rp42,200 per kg (down 15.77%)
