Sumatera Selatan Food Prices Wednesday (January 8th): Egg, Onion, and Chili Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (8/1/2025) at 16:39 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 2 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

The commodities that increased in price are packaged simple cooking oil and red chili peppers.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, chicken eggs, garlic bulbs, curly red chilies, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers saw the highest price increase of Rp2,730 (3.64%) to Rp77,650 per kg. Curly red chilies experienced the largest price drop of Rp3,890 (7.33%) to Rp49,160 per kg.
