Jakarta's Current Food Prices: Oil and Chili Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in DKI Jakarta today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (2/11/2024) at 09.15 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are shallots, chicken eggs, granulated sugar, red chilies, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken, curly red chilies, milkfish, premium rice, and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots experienced the highest price increase of Rp4,620 (13.06%) to Rp40,000 per kg. Milkfish experienced the largest price decrease of Rp10,680 (26.25%) to Rp30,000 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 18 food commodities in DKI Jakarta according to Bapanas on November 2, 2024, at 09.15 WIB.

1. Pure Beef: Rp140,000 per kg (up 2.5%)
2. Red Chilies: Rp55,000 per kg (up 9.17%)
3. Shallots: Rp40,000 per kg (up 13.06%)
4. Garlic Bulbs: Rp40,000 per kg (down 3.15%)
5. Mackerel: Rp35,000 per kg (down 1.07%)
6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp32,000 per kg (down 9.94%)
7. Curly Red Chilies: Rp30,000 per kg (down 5.45%)
8. Milkfish: Rp30,000 per kg (down 26.25%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,000 per kg (up 1.38%)
10. Broiler Chicken: Rp28,000 per kg (down 25.57%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp19,000 per kg (up 2.37%)
12. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (up 5.45%)
13. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (down 1.48%)
