Price of Medium-Sized Garlic at Modern Markets, April 2024-2025

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of medium-sized garlic in modern markets in South Sumatra Province is recorded at Rp52,200 per kg. This price is unchanged compared to the previous day and the last week.

Compared to the last month, the daily price of medium-sized garlic in modern markets has decreased from the previous record of Rp54,700 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of medium-sized garlic in modern markets in South Sumatra over the last three months has increased by 12.99% from the previous price of Rp46,200 per kg.

The highest price increase for medium-sized garlic in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in February 2017 with an increase of 57.41%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in May 2019 with a decrease of -46.42%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in South Sumatra show 17 commodities decreased and 11 others increased. Basic commodities with price decreases include Fresh Layer Eggs, Low-Quality Rice I, Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2, Garlic, Rice, Green Chilies, Medium-Sized Garlic, Red Chilies, Red Chili, Low-Quality Rice II, Large Red Chili, Curly Red Chili, Chicken Eggs, Medium-Quality Rice I, Chilies, Cooking Oil, and Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price changes over the last month in South Sumatra Province:

6. Medium-Sized Red Onion per Kg Rp56,400 per kg (up 3.11%)
7. Grade 1 Beef per Kg Rp186,400 per kg (up 0.24%)
8. Low-Quality Rice I per Kg Rp15,000 per kg (down 7.69%)
9. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per Kg Rp19,650 per kg (down 4.61%)
10. Garlic per Kg Rp52,200 per kg (down 4.57%)
