Current Food Prices in East Java: Rice and Egg Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Sunday (17/11/2024) at 09.12 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 13 commodities increased in price and 8 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, broiler chicken, milkfish, bulk wheat flour, and red onions.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as mackerel, red chili peppers, pure beef, medium rice, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp470 (4.99%) to Rp9,880 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most, by Rp410 (7.69%) to Rp4,920 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in East Java according to Bapanas on November 17, 2024, at 09.12 WIB.

6. Mackerel: Rp31,960 per kg (down 3.3%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,230 per kg (up 3.46%)
8. Red Chili Peppers: Rp27,950 per kg (down 3.98%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp25,720 per kg (up 1.66%)
10. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,060 per liter (down 1.16%)
