Green Chili Prices in East Java's Modern Markets Increased by 4.49% in the Last Month

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of green chilies in modern markets in East Java Province is recorded at Rp76,750 per kg. This price is unchanged compared to the previous day, and similarly unchanged over the last week.

However, compared to the last month, the daily price of green chilies in modern markets has increased from the previous record of Rp73,450 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of green chilies in modern markets in East Java over the last three months has increased by 19.55% from the previous trading price of Rp64,200 per kg.

The record high for the daily price of green chilies in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in February 2017 with an increase of 244.62%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in January 2017 with a decrease of -58.46%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in East Java show 16 commodities decreased and 13 increased. Basic commodities with price decreases include Chicken Eggs, Grade 2 Beef, Fresh Chicken Eggs, Fresh Chicken Meat, Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2, Grade I Low-Quality Rice, Beef, Chicken Meat, Green Chilies, Curly Red Chilies, Grade 1 Beef, Large Red Chilies, Premium Quality Sugar, Red Chilies, Cooking Oil, and Grade II Low-Quality Rice.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price movements over the last month in East Java Province:

6. Fresh Chicken Eggs per Kg Rp26,300 per kg (down 9.15%)
7. Fresh Chicken Meat per Kg Rp42,750 per kg (down 5.32%)
8. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per Kg Rp21,700 per kg (down 0.91%)
9. Shallots per Kg Rp60,700 per kg (up 20.2%)
10. Grade I Low-Quality Rice per Kg Rp14,250 per kg (down 1.04%)
11. Beef per Kg Rp165,550 per kg (down 0.63%)
