Rice Prices in Traditional Markets March 2025-2026 Period

Based on the latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel, the price of rice in traditional markets of the Riau Islands Province is recorded at IDR 14,950 per kg. This price has not changed compared to the previous day, as well as in the last week.

Meanwhile, compared to the last month, the price of rice in traditional markets has increased from the previously recorded IDR 14,800 per kg.

In the last three months, the price of rice in traditional markets in the Riau Islands has increased by 2.4% from the previously traded price of IDR 14,600 per kg.

The record increase in rice prices in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in January 2021 with an increase of 29.9%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in January 2021 with a decrease of -23.02%.

According to the PIHPS monitoring, today's prices of nine staple foods (sembako) in the Riau Islands Province show that 11 commodities have decreased and five others have increased. The sembako with decreased prices are Green Bird's Eye Chili, Large Red Chili, Medium I Quality Rice, Fresh Broiler Chicken Meat, Grade 1 Beef, Fresh Broiler Eggs, Medium-sized Shallots, Red Bird's Eye Chili, Medium-sized Garlic, Curly Red Chili and Local Granulated Sugar.

Below are the prices of nine staple foods monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price developments in the last month in the Riau Islands Province:

2. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil Type 2 per Kg IDR 18,000 per kg (up 5.88%)
3. Large Red Chili per Kg IDR 109,700 per kg (down 3.94%)
4. Medium I Quality Rice per Kg IDR 13,400 per kg (down 0.74%)
5. Medium II Quality Rice per Kg IDR 13,300 per kg (no change)
6. Super I Quality Rice per Kg IDR 17,400 per kg (up 0.87%)
7. Super II Quality Rice per Kg IDR 14,400 per kg (up 1.41%)
8. Premium Quality Granulated Sugar per Kg IDR 17,950 per kg (no change)
9. Lower II Quality Rice per Kg IDR 11,800 per kg (no change)
10. Fresh Broiler Chicken Meat per Kg IDR 39,950 per kg (down 1.24%)
11. Grade 1 Beef per Kg IDR 131,750 per kg (down 1.68%)
12. Grade 2 Beef per Kg IDR 124,700 per kg (up 0.65%)
13. Fresh Broiler Eggs per Kg IDR 33,500 per kg (down 6.42%)
14. Lower I Quality Rice per Kg IDR 13,550 per kg (no change)
15. Medium-sized Shallots per Kg IDR 39,050 per kg (down 3.82%)
16. Red Bird's Eye Chili per Kg IDR 63,500 per kg (down 25.9%)
