West Java Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall (Thursday, January 18, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in West Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (18/1/2024) at 10:15 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are medium-grain rice, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), fine iodized salt, bulk wheat flour, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, red chilies, red onions, skipjack tuna, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of corn at the farmer level saw the highest increase, jumping Rp550 (8.45%) to Rp7,060 per kg. The price of red chili peppers saw the lowest decrease, dropping Rp5,230 (9.46%) to Rp50,080 per kg.

6. Shallot Bulbs: Rp35,160 per kg (down 4.92%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp35,010 per kg (up 1.68%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp34,960 per kg (down 4.38%)
9. Red Onions: Rp29,990 per kg (down 5.72%)
10. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp26,450 per kg (up 0.72%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,330 per liter (up 1.17%)
