Health Budget Realization Down 11.1% in the First Half of 2022

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that the realization of the health budget in the first half of 2022 amounted to Rp74.2 trillion, down 11.1% compared to the same period last year, which was Rp83.5 trillion.

This realization includes the Covid-19 handling budget of Rp28.2 trillion. This figure is down compared to the first half of 2021, which reached Rp44.1 trillion.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said that the increasingly controlled spread of Covid-19 has also led to control of the health budget.

Meanwhile, the realization of the regular health budget actually increased from Rp39.4 trillion to Rp46 trillion in the same period.

The realization of the health budget is mainly influenced by the performance of spending by ministries/agencies (K/L).

The health budget included in K/L spending reached Rp58.83 trillion. This amount consists of spending by the Ministry of Health (Rp54.6 trillion), BPOM (Rp0.78 trillion), BKKBN (Rp1.41 trillion), the Indonesian National Police (Rp1.09 trillion), the Ministry of Defense (Rp0.84 trillion), and BNPB (Rp0.08 trillion).

Meanwhile, non-K/L spending amounted to Rp4.98 trillion, including health insurance for civil servants, state officials, and TNI/Polri (Rp4.8 trillion) and tax incentives paid by the government (Rp0.2 trillion).

As for Transfers to Regions and Village Funds (TKDD), it amounted to Rp10.38 trillion, mainly for operational health assistance (BOK) and operational family planning assistance (BOKB) (Rp6.2 trillion) and village funds for Covid-19 handling (Rp2.7 trillion).
