Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Up, Salt Down (Thursday, December 28, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (28/12/2023) at 13:47 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, premium rice, red chilies, skipjack tuna, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, granulated sugar, dry soybean (import), and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp2,300 (5.25%), reaching Rp46,100 per kg. Milkfish had the lowest price decrease of Rp1,140 (3.28%), reaching Rp33,600 per kg.
